Discover the rich cultural diversity of Erie with our Ethnic Market Tours. Experience the flavors, stories, and traditions that make our community unique!
Erie Arts and Culture's annual Ethnic Market Tours offer an insider’s look at some of Erie’s New Americans businesses. Our tour guide is Lubna Dabbah. She has a Palestinian mother and Syrian father and came to Erie when she was five years old. She says, “Food is a big part of how my family shares our culture and stays connected to our heritage. I’ve always loved exploring different cuisines and learning about the stories behind them. Culture and food go hand in hand; they’re how we express identity, celebrate, and bring people together. New American entrepreneurs represent real stories, hard work, and traditions that deserve to be seen and supported. I think people will be surprised to discover how much history and heart can be found in our markets and restaurants. I want it to be more than just a tour, I want it to be an eye-opening experience.”
